U.S. Open Cup: Amateurs get chance against Galaxy

The 17 MLS teams, who enter in the fourth round, are joined by seven teams from the NASL, six for the USL and one each from the PDL and UPSL, where La Maquina plays.
Goalkeeper Luis Sosa recorded shutouts in all three Open Cup games for La Maquina, which is based in Santa Ana. It is one of 43 teams from California, Nevada and Arizona NPSL. It was banned from the UPSL spring season for a fight involving players, owners, coaches and fans from La Maquina and San Nicolas FC in the fall playoffs.The Galaxy has been off for two weeks and is expected to field a team of reserves.
