NASL: Kranjcar leaves Cosmos for Rangers

Croatian midfielder Niko Kranjcar, who played seven NASL spring season games after joining the New York Cosmos in March, has joined Scotland's Glasgow Rangers.

“We agreed to a contract with Niko for the duration of the spring season,” said Cosmos COO Erik Stover said in a press release. “He showed his class by giving maximum effort on the field and representing the club well off it. Any club is lucky to have a player and person like him.”

The 31-year-old Kranjcar, whose previous clubs include Queens Park Rangers and Dynamo Kiev, scored on goal and made one assist in 404 minutes for the Cosmos.

Kranjar made seven appearances and six starts for New York in the Spring Season, scoring one goal and adding an assist in 404 minutes.
