Euro 2016: Griezmann rescues France with pair of goals

Antoine Griezmann scored two goals four minutes apart to lead host France to a 2-1 win over Ireland, which had led for almost an hour on a penalty kick by Robbie Brady. Also moving into the Euro 2016 quarterfinals were Germany and Belgium, easy winners over Slovakia and Hungary, respectively.

SATURDAY. Portugal, which tied all three games in the group stage, was minutes away from heading to a shootout in the round of 16 when Ricardo Quaresma scored on a rebound after Cristiano Ronaldo's first shot of the game was stopped by Croatia keeper Danijel Subasic and directed in Quaresma's path. The goal held up for a 1-0 win that moved Portugal into the quarterfinals along with Poland and Wales.
