Saturday's San Jose Earthquakes-LA Galaxy game on Univision -- the first game on the Spanish-language network since 1999 -- averaged 1 million viewers, the most for MLS game on a Spanish- or
English-language network since the 1,039,000 viewers who watched MLS Cup 2011, which was supposed to be
David Beckham's farewell game with the Galaxy.
The Cali Clasico also
averaged 548,000 adults 18-49 and 280,000 adults 18-34. The game followed Univision's coverage of the USA-Colombia game for third place at the Copa Centenario.
Univision's
prime-time coverage of the Copa Centenario -- semifinals on Tuesday and Wednesday,
third-place game on Saturday and final on Sunday -- helped make Univision the No. 1 broadcast network among both adults 18-34 and 18-49.
