MLS club New York City FC, along with the city of New York, adidas and the U.S. Soccer Foundation, will build 50 junior-sized soccer fields in New York City’s five boroughs over the next five
years in a $3 million partnership. The four partners will contribute $750,000 apiece and the $3 million will also cover maintenance of the fields and after-school activities based on the U.S. Soccer
Foundation's "Soccer for Success
" program. The 50 fields will be built on an array of underused or rundown city
property, including existing parks and school playgrounds.
