  1. R2 Dad, July 17, 2016 at 2:21 p.m.

Terrible officiating #1: DC United vs Columbus red card. Ref actually carded the wrong player--Sarvas ended up on top of Afful after leaving his feet and being late on that challenge. Sarvas had his cleats on top of Afful's leg, then realized that was a no-no then faked injury. Response was so quick center ref (SILVIU PETRESCU)didn't even confer with AR on that one and most certainly should have.

  2. R2 Dad, July 17, 2016 at 3:05 p.m.

Terrible officiating #2: San Jose vs Toronto. ALEJANDRO MARISCAL gets it wrong with the second red-- obviously only a yellow. Something must have really gone wrong on the first red because I can't see it anywhere in the highlights. Did anyone see it? Based on the past 6 weeks, it appears the league/PRO has emphasized getting the red cards applied--which is good--but now it's in the forefront of the referee minds (bad) and they're not as thoughtful as they should be when doling these out.

  3. R2 Dad, July 18, 2016 at 12:02 p.m.

Terrible officiating #3: Philly vs Red Bulls. ALAN KELLY in the 72nd minute allows persistent enfringement to continue long enough Ilsinho swings an arm. It's not a hard surface (head/elbow/hand) to face so probably isn't a card, but because Lade, who Kelly was going to card, sells it hard Kelly ends up carding Ilsinho first (2nd Yellow), sending him off and killing the last 15 minutes of the match.

It's the referee's fault that Ilsinho has so little self control he can't help smacking an opponent in the face right in front of the official? And it didn't kill the last 15 minutes - it was still an exciting finish.
