NASL Rewind: Minnesota ends Indy Eleven's streak

Minnesota United's Christian Ramirez  scored his ninth and 10th goals of 2016 in a 2-0 win that ended Indy Eleven's 13-game undefeated streak one game short of setting a league record. The New York Cosmos suffered their first loss of the Fall Season but lead the Fall and overall standings.

Indy Eleven tied the league record, with six wins and seven ties that helped it win the Spring Season title, with a 3-0 Wednesday win over Fort Lauderdale but had no answer on Saturday for Ramirez, who scored his both his goals within the first six minutes.

With the victory, Minnesota, a preseason favorite that finished a disappointing fourth-place in the Spring Season, moved into fourth place in the overall standings. (Spring and Fall Season first-place finishers and the two teams with the best overall records earn semifinal spots.)

"Let's be fair, there's a reason they're at the top of the league, because they're gritty, they made it difficult for us, they're physically massive, it's tough, they're a tough team to play against,” said Minnesota United coach Carl Craig.
