NWSL Rewind: Goals rain down for Seattle

The Seattle Reign, the two-time NWSL regular-season champion, scored a season-high five goals as it pounded the expansion Orlando Pride, 5-2, and moved closer to the top four in the playoff race.

Reign FC, which has now lost just one game in its last eight matches, took the lead in the 21st minute on Kim Little's 30th career NWSL goal, the most in league history.

“We put them under a lot of pressure,” said Seattle Reign FC head coach Laura Harvey.

The win gives Reign FC 20 points on the season, just two points out of a playoff slot, behind Sky Blue FC who currently sit in fourth with 22 points.

“We needed it [the win],” said Harvey. “I think we’ve managed to hang on to the playoffs, just hang around it enough to make it still viable and scraped results when we’ve needed them. Obviously, we’d love to make it a little easier on ourselves but that doesn’t tend to be our way.”
