"After meeting with both teams, the Committee found the teams were disrespectful to the game, the competition and U.S. Youth Soccer."

-- A statement from U.S. Youth Soccer after its National Championship Series (NCS) Committee's investigation into alleged collusion between U-18 girls teams Carlsbad Elite (California) and Ambassadors FC (Ohio) in a 0-0 tie. The investigation cleared the teams of collusion but determined that "coaches may have had a material effect on the outcome of the match" and USYS fined both teams.

    Don't know the specifics, but guessing that a draw benefited both. Not so sure, extra time and PK's to get a winner, isn't the best idea for all games. If a time concern straight to PK's. Oh, Golden Goal extra time too. Get a winner!

    For the good of the game ... for the good of player development ... for the good of the players ... ALWAYS COMPETE TO THE BEST OF YOUR ABILITY ... sure, tactics can change due to circumstances, but this was disgraceful ... ethics & sportsmanship matter
