NWSL Rewind: Thorns and Spirit lead at Olympic break

Portland and Washington lead the NWSL as it enters the league heads into its August break for the Olympics. The Spirit has a game in hand, which it will play Aug. 18 at the Houston Dash.

Dane Nadia Nadim scored her fifth goal of the season to lead the Thorns to a 1-0 win over Seattle before 19,231 fans at Providence Park, the largest crowd for a match this season and third-largest crowd for a Thorns match in club history.

The Spirit improved to 6-1-1 at home when it beat Sky Blue FC, 3-1.
