Tosaint Ricketts registered his first MLS goal as Toronto FC beat Real Salt Lake, 1-0, and moved into second place in MLS's Eastern Conference. The shutout was TFC's ninth of the season,
setting a club record.
Alex Bono, who has started his seventh straight game in goal, picked up the shutout. TFC is 4-1-2 since he replaced injured Clint Irwin.
“Alex was great, quick to get off his line and deal with some things behind us when we were a bit porous at times," said TFC coach Greg Vanney, "but he was always there to bail us
out."
