Lucky we didn't loose one or two young people. 30mph will kill if you land on your head unprotected. 30mph will have you getting skin graphs or having bone repairs if your unlucky. I have ridden 20+ years and want to warn parents that getting your young adult a "ruby" or something bigger is NOT a good idea unless they have learned some of the issues with riding while off road, moving slower and generally at a younger age. Learning to first ride on the road when you are immortal like most college students, is an extreme risk. Please, if they don't already have a few years of riding experience think long and hard before buying them a two wheeler for transportation at school.
