CCL: FC Dallas makes it 4-for-4 for MLS clubs

FC Dallas needed a goal by Honduran Maynor Figueroa in the 84th minute to give the MLS Supporters' Shield leader a 2-1 win over Real Esteli of Nicaragua in their Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League opener. FC Dallas fielded its first team but struggled to defeat the Nicaraguan champion, now winless in 17 CCL games.



Both teams hit the woodwork before Michael Barrios put FC Dallas ahead in the 44th minute, but sub Juan Berdun equalized three minutes after entering the game following the break.

The FC Dallas victory gave MLS clubs four wins in four games in Week 1. Sporting Kansas City begins play in Week 2.
