What They're Saying: Bruce Arena

"You should just have a clock and that’s it. Extra time can be a time scandal. It’s not that I’m saying it was there, but there’s no injuries or anything like that. But having said that, we have to take full responsibility for conceding two goals in the last five minutes on corner kicks."

-- LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena after the Galaxy lost to FC Dallas, 2-1, in the U..S. Open Cup semifinals on Victor Ulloa's goal in the 121st minute. He said a referee has too much power to award additional time. (MLSSoccer.com)

No clock for goodness sakes. Coach, nobody makes that assertion when on the benefitting end. The Center needs that latitude-discretion.

I like Bruce but he looks for an excuse when his teams lose. He never ever blames himself something he left undone for a loss.

I think once he blamed Clint Mathis for a lose to the press. Never ever talk about a player badly in front of the press. I can't understand while Mathis still played for after that.
