Anybody miss the MLS shootout? Used during the league's first four seasons (1996-1999), the 35-yard one-on-one was much ridiculed, but this highlight clip, featuring stars such as Tony
Meola, Giovanni Savarese,Jeff Agoos, Roberto Donadoni and Eric Wynalda, makes one ask, they're more entertaining than penalty kicks, no?
Actually, I have to admit, it feels a little more satisfying than penalty kicks. Watching Meola succeed on almost every one he took...does being a goalkeeper yourself give you that much of an advantage? I never realized, back then, just how comfortable he was with the ball at his feet.
A lot of good players on those Metrostars. Yes it is a lot better then pks. It was the not a MLS invention either if I remember right. it was an experiment by Fifa that the MLS do it.

I have seen plenty of keepers sky their pks.
