Milestones: Izzo-Brown wins 300th game as head coach

Nikki Izzo-Brown won her 300th game as a college coach as No. 4 West Virginia edged Buffalo, 2-0, on Sunday at the Penn State Invitational. All but 13 of her wins have come with the Mountaineers.

Izzo-Brown coached one season at West Virginia Wesleyan before becoming the WVU head coach in 1996. The Mountaineers have made the NCAA Tournament the last 16 years.

They were playing without All-Americans Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence, who won the bronze medal with Canada at the Rio Olympics.

West Virginia opened the season with a 1-1 tie at No. 5 Penn State in front of record crowd of 5,791 fans at Jeffrey Field,
