U.S. Abroad: Wood debuts in Hamburg win

Bobby Wood made his first start for new club Hamburg in a 1-0 win at Zwickau in the first round of the German Cup. Christian Pulisic dressed but did not play for Borussia Dortmund in its 3-0 win at Eintracht Trier. Twelve Americans in all saw action in the first round.
