MLS Countdown: Sounders activate Torres

Nearly a year after suffering a torn ACL in just his fourth MLS appearance, Panamanian defender Roman Torres has been declared fit to play.

Torres, 30, left Colombian club Millonarios to sign with Seattle in August of last year. He suffered the ACL injury playing against San Jose Sept. 12.  The team placed the Panamanian international on season-ending IR after his injury, which didn’t permit him to participate in full training until last month. 

He joins the Sounders during a busy stretch. Seattle beat Portland, 3-1, last weekend, plays at Houston Wednesday, then travels to play a rematch with the Timbers at Providence Park on Sunday.
