CCL: FC Dallas takes point in Nicaragua

MLS Supporters' Shield leader FC Dallas escaped with a 2-1 win over Nicaragua's Real Esteli at home in their opening Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League match, but it could only draw, 1-1, in the return match in Esteli.

Elvis Figueroa put the home team ahead when he redirected Emilio Lopez's header into the goal in the fifth minute, but Atiba Harris tied the score two minutes later, putting away Mauro Rosales' free kick.

Maynor Figueroa in the 84th minute to give the  FC Dallas a 2-1 win at home in its opener. Its remaining two games are against Guatemala's Suchitepequez in Weeks 5 and 6. Suchitepequez beat Real Esteli, 1-0 at home in its only CCL game to date.
