Pulisic, who entered the game to start the second half, set up Adrian Ramos for the goal that made it 3-2 in the 69th minute and put away a rebound on the doorstep to tie the game in the first
minute of stoppage time.
Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel said his players, many of the youngsters
playing in the Champions League for the first time, weren't ready for the game that followed a 2-1 midweek win at Sporting Lisbon.
"We were not ready to play in the Bundesliga," he said.
"Not on a technical or tactical level, nor in terms of intensity and body language. In the first half, we didn't show any of the urgency and willingness that you need in order to win a match in the
Bundesliga. In general, my youngsters are doing that extremely well at the moment. But we should not forget that some of those in our team are A-youth players."
Tuchel said there was a
big difference in how his players played in the two halves.
"We also spent too much time chasing the game after falling behind," he said. "On the other hand, we need to make sure that we
show understanding for the players and recognize that the second half was good. Of course we are disappointed because we had expected to play like that from the beginning, but perhaps we cannot expect
to do that just yet."
