U.S. Abroad: Gatt scores first goal in four years

Joshua Gatt scored his first goal since 2012 when he hit the winner on a breakaway in the 10th minute of Molde's 3-0 win over Stabaek in Norway's Tippeligaen. Injuries had limited him to one appearance in three years before he came back in September.

Gatt, 25, had been a key part of Molde's league championship teams in 2011 and 2012. Molde is tied for fourth in the Tippeligaen with one game to play. Cole Grossman started for Stabaek. Bob Bradley's former club is in the relegation zone. If Stabaek beats last-place Start and Bodo/Glimt loses at champion Rosenborg, it will move into 14th place and face a promotion/relegation playoff.

Gatt had been given a one-year contract but said after Sunday's game he wasn't sure where he'd play next season.

GERMANY. Christian Pulisic started and went the distance in Borussia Dortmund's 0-0 tie against Schalke 04 in the Revierderby, the battle of Ruhr Valley giants. After a quiet first half against a determined Schalke team, Pulisic had a strong second half, also coming close to setting up Ousmane Dembele for a goal. His flick-on header found the Frenchman, who struck the crossbar from close range.

Last-place Hamburg's frustrating season continued when Bobby Wood was shown a straight red card for an elbow off the ball on Dominique Heintz in its 3-0 loss at Hoffenheim.

MEXICO. Michael Orozco started and Paul Arriola came off the bench in Tijuana's 1-0 win at Toluca that kept it in first place in Liga MX's Torneo Apertura with two games to play in the regular season.

RE Wood red card. I thought I was watching Serie A. That's serious foul play? https://youtu.be/QTcFC90cEEI

That card is an embarrassment. By that standard the marker's shoulder bump should also have been a straight red. Hopefully the marker will be fined for diving, as that was what was really going on.
