U.S. U-17s call in keeper from Benfica

U.S. under-17 national team coach John Hackworth named two new players -- goalkeeper C.J. Dos Santos and defender Ethan Bartlow -- for the team's trip to Jamaica for games Wednesday and Sunday.

Dos Santos, who was born to a Cape Verdean father and Portuguese mother, moved from Philadelphia, where he spent three seasons in the Union academy, to Portuguese club Benfica's academy program, while Bartlow plays for Seattle area club Crossfire.

Dos Santos previously played with the U.S. under-15 national team in 2015.

A third player, Philadelphia Union academy defender Rayshaun McGann, is not currently in the U-17 Residency Program in Bradenton, Florida.

After the trip to Jamaica, the U-17s will face teams from Brazil, Portugal and Turkey at the 2016 Nike International Friendlies that kick off on Nov. 30 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

The 2017 U-17 World Cup qualifiers will be held next April.
