U.S. Abroad: Pulisic's Dortmund advances in UCL

Christian Pulisic started again as Borussia Dortmund beat Sporting Lisbon, 1-0, on Wednesday and advanced to the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League after sweeping the series with the Portuguese club.

Qualified Teams:
Atlético Madrid
Bayern Munich
Borussia Dortmund
Paris SG

Dortmund leads Group F with 10 points after four games, taking sole possession of first place when Legia Warsaw tied Real Madrid, 3-3, leaving the defending champion with eight points.

The 18-year-old American came close to scoring an insurance goal with a shot off the bar in the second half

Colombian Adrian Ramos, filling in for Gabon star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, scored the only goal in the 12th minute.

The surprise was Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel's decision to leave Aubameyang, nominated for the Ballon d'Or, out of his injury-riddled team for "internal reasons."
