jumped the gun when he told reporters that FIFA had reserved its decision to award 3-0 forfeit wins to Chile and Peru, costing Bolivia
four points for fielding Paraguay-born Nelson Cabrera
, who was not eligible to play since he had not lived in Bolivia for five years.
Soon thereafter, FIFA tweeted, "The sanction on
Bolivia is maintained. The version circulating about the return of the points to Bolivia is incorrect."
