Controversial Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has had his contract with Rangers terminated by mutual agreement. After playing eight games, the 34-year-old Barton was banned for six weeks byRangers following a training incident in September and was later treated for stress. The Scottish Football Association is also investigating him over alleged breaches of gambling rules.
