The US had an interesting and successful game plan. In contrast the opponent's plan was to blunt the US attack by pulling and knocking down US players. It was a difficult match for the officials. Looking past the scoreline I was impressed with the effort and discipline of the US players. While I would not say that the US played for a tie, I would describe the US strategy as attacking while ensuring that the US would not lose.
Totally disagree. We played too narrowly, were lucky not to conceded PKs in the box due to poorly executed challenges--could have been much worse score lines. French will be back but many of these ladies will not, and THAT'S how we know we're failing our youth players.
