Bob Bradley took over as Swansea City manager at the start of one international break and a second international break ends with the Swans still looking for their first win under their Americanmanager. He downplayed the talk of a team in “crisis” after South Korea midfielder Ki Sung-Yeung was quoted as saying just that.
“The team is in the relegation zone, so the atmosphere cannot be good,” Ki
Swansea has one point from four gamessince Bradley replaced Italian Francesco Guidolin as manager, and is winless in its last 10 games since winning on opening day. The Swans are tied for last place with Sunderland and already sixpoints in the relegation zone.
Swansea’s next game is at Everton, where it will face its former captain, Ashley Williams. The Welsh national team captain joined Everton in Augustand Bradley says the Swans are feeling his absence.
“I’ve heard many stories about Ashley and the stories always begin with his leadership ability,” he said. “When you lose a leadereverybody is challenged to take a little bit bigger role, that has been the message to our group now in recent weeks.”
Bradley won’t agree with Ki that Swansea is in crisis but he admitsa lot has to change.
“We certainly understand we are in an important stretch, need results, need this confidence boost,” he said. “We have to be strong, we have to understand that it’snot just about one part of football. We have got to be better in many ways.”
