Four MLS players make Copa Centroamericana Best XI

Host Panama's Harold Cummings (San Jose) and Armando Cooper (Toronto FC), El Salvador's Darwin Ceren (San Jose) and Costa Rica's Francisco Calvo (Minnesota United) were all named to the Best XI at the Copa Centroamericana that wrapped up on Sunday.

Honduras, which won the tournament, led all teams, with four players on the team: Jairo Puerto, Jorge Claros, Erick Andino and Eddie Hernandez.

Hernandez's goal gave the Catrachos a 1-0 win over Belize to win their fourth regional title.

As expected, Honduras, Panama, El Salvador and Costa Rica qualified for the 2017 Gold Cup. Nicaragua edged Belize for fifth place and will face Haiti in a playoff for the final berth in the Gold Cup. Guatemala, suspended by FIFA, did not take part in the Copa Centroamericana.
