Making a List: MLS players on loan

The New York Red Bulls and Philadelphia Union loaned out young Cameroonians Anatole Abang and Eric Ayuk, respectively, to clubs in Europe. They bring to nine the number of players sent on season-long loans -- six to foreign clubs and three to USL clubs.

Abang scored four goals for the Red Bulls in 2015 but didn't score in eight games in 2016 and was sent on loan to Hobro in Denmark. The new loan deal is with Finland's SJK Seinajoki.

Ayuk played 28 MLS games for the Union in 2015 but just one in 2016. He's gone on loan to Jonkopings Sodra in Sweden.
