U.S. Abroad: Pulisic assists in Dortmund win

Christian Pulisic set up Marco Reus for a nifty goal in the second minute of Borussia Dortmund's 3-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in German Bundesliga. Reus was making his return after being sidelined six weeks with a thigh injury.

Paul Arriola (Tijuana) and Emerson Hyndman (Rangers) also had assists in wins. DeAndre Yedlin returned to action, making a late appearance for Newcastle.

In the French Women's Cup semifinals, Alex Morgan scored four goals for Lyon in a 10-0 win at third division Henin-Beaumont before 2,500 fans. Lyon, winner of five straight cup titles, will face archival Paris St. Germain in the final May 20 in Vannes.

Did the attacker standing in an offside position right in the middle of the field really did not effect the play?

Nick, my impression was that the defense moved up putting him offside so that no one was drawn away to mark him, and he was not involved in the play. Quick thinking by Pulisic kept the play going.

When they first started to make that call. They changed the original rule to try to get more scoring. You originally had to step off the playing field so the offside would not be called. I think if the keeper looks at you that player is affecting the play. I know officials will say no. But never the less you as the keeper just glance at the offside position player it does affect the play. Unfortunately you will never get that call from the official.

How about if the keeper and the offside position player collide does that effect the play? :)
