CCL: Gonzalez's Pachuca earns draw at Tigres

Omar Gonzalez's Pachuca escaped from Monterrey with a 1-1 draw against Tigres in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions League final

Chilean star Eduardo Vargas had a chance to put Tigres ahead after it trailed early in the game, but he had his penalty kick saved by Pachuca keeper Alfonso Blanco.

Raul Lopez gave Pachuca the lead in the third minute at the Estadio Universitario de Nuevo Leon when his free kick deflected off the Tigres wall and fooled goalkeeper Nahuel Guzman.

But Argentine Ismael Sosa evened the score in the 32nd minute when he had an easy tap-in after Blanco failed to hold Jesus Duenas' cross.

Blanco atoned for his mistake in the 67th minute by diving to push aside Vargas' penalty kick.
