What will German club Hamburg do with Bobby Wood
? After one season in the Bundesliga, the 24-year-old American has generated plenty of interest from clubs in England and Germany. The latest:
that Borussia Dortmund is eyeing
him as a back-up for striker Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang
Despite being in and out of the lineup with injuries, Wood has scored nine goals in 27 league and cup games for HSV, which
is battling relegation -- tied for 13th place with five games to play.
Earlier in the week, Hamburg sporting director Jens Todt told Sport Bild
the club would like to renegotiate Wood's contract, signing him to a
long-term contract and giving him a salary boost from his current annual salary of $1.6 million.
HSV signed Wood from Union Berlin, where he scored 17 goals in 32 games for the second
division club in 2015-16. (He had six goals in his first six season with 1860 Munich and Erzgebirge Aue.)
