Report: Borussia Dortmund pondering Wood move

What will German club Hamburg do with Bobby Wood? After one season in the Bundesliga, the 24-year-old American has generated plenty of interest from clubs in England and Germany. The latest: Bild reported that Borussia Dortmund is eyeing him as a back-up for striker Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang.

Despite being in and out of the lineup with injuries, Wood has scored nine goals in 27 league and cup games for HSV, which is battling relegation -- tied for 13th place with five games to play.

Earlier in the week, Hamburg sporting director Jens Todt told Sport Bild the club would like to renegotiate Wood's contract, signing him to a long-term contract and giving him a salary boost from his current annual salary of $1.6 million.

HSV signed Wood from Union Berlin, where he scored 17 goals in 32 games for the second division club in 2015-16. (He had six goals in his first six season with 1860 Munich and Erzgebirge Aue.)

Backup for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang!!!! This is nonsense or sensational hype talk to get him traded at maximum profit.. It will never happen at least not for a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang substitute no coach will put himself in a situation like that. He is better off coming to a much more lower league like MLS and starting for a team like NYRB who cannot even outrun a mummy. It a shame what people do to hype players that has no impact to their clubs.

In related news, Barca have difficulty getting quality backups for Messi, Neymar and Suarez. James can't get minutes at Real Madrid, just like Chicharito struggled to play several years back. Backup: (n) 1. a person or thing that supports or reinforces another. Perhaps you read this as Replacement and wittered for 3 sentences? If you're going to criticize MLS can it be about something other than footspeed?

Yes. And criticizing RBNY's attack when they have led MLS in goals the last two years doesn't make much sense either.

Fire, NYRB should make you the mascot without the costume. How can you justify a team that cannot win? I am not saying don't be a fan all I am saying is be an angry fan because with fan like you they will continue to be happy just scoring goals but losing. You better off looking at rec soccer because that's the level of NYRB.. They are worse than untreated garbage that's why I will wear a NY Giants top tomorrow at their areana.

I know a lot of people use sports as an outlet for their anger and agnst but not me. If being a fan made me angry I wouldn't do it. A team that can't win? They have the most wins in MLS over the past four years. They won the supporters shield in 2013 and 2015 and the eastern conference last year. MLS Cup doesn't determine who the best team in MLS is. It's all about who is hot for that month. Regular season performance is a better indicator. Sure, I have been disappointed when they get knocked out of MLS cup but it doesn't make me angry. In any event, criticizing their attack makes no sense since it has been literally the best in MLS the past two years.

As usual, when you are shown to be 100% wrong, you just make up something new to complaint about.

Fire, I gave you 15 hours to re-think about your desperate support and self promotion of NYRB.. so you seriously think NYRB has been the greatest team in MLS because they won a bunch of games more than their competitors? Or won some lame trophy that only super duper fans like you know.. correct ? Why don't you ask the mayor of NYC to throw you and your losing team a parade down Canyon of Heroes-- let me know how the people of NY/NJ thinks of you.. To be "The BEST" you need to win your games that gets you to the playoffs when it matters and then raise the level of your game in playoffs all the way to trophy. Until then don't EVER EVER say that NYRB is the best because you sound stupid.

Do I think RBNY are better than other teams because they win more games? Uh, yes, of course. Were they a better team than Seattle last year and Portland in 2015? Comfortably. I know those teams got hot and/or lucky and won MLS cup but I don't discount the previous 34 games based on what happens over a brief mini-tournament at the end of the season. Too many teams make the MLS playoffs and there is too little advantage given to teams with better regular season records so I don't take it too seriously.

I'm a soccer fan first and than a club fan. I want to see a good game first regardless of the score. I want to experience great plays just like the players do. I care about winning, but after a dismal performance by one or both sides it becomes a total disappointment as if my expectations have failed me.
