Frantisek Rajtoral, 31, died of a suicide at his home in Turkey, where he played for Gaziantepspor. Rajtoral played 14 times for his country and was part of the
squad that reached the Euro 2012 quarterfinals. In response to Rajtoral's death, the chief medical officer of FIFPro, the international players’ union, warned more needs to be done to combat
mental illness among current professionals.
