MLS Week 9: Race tightens in Western Conference

The top-of-the-table clash between Portland and FC Dallas in the Western Conference ended in a 2-2 tie, allowing Sporting KC, a 3-0 winner over Real Salt Lake, to move into the top three. Seattle earned a 3-3 tie with New England, rallying for three goals in 13 minutes late in the game.

Orlando City SC won for the sixth time in seven games and remained perfect at its new Orlando City Stadium with a 2-0 win over Colorado Rapids on goals by second-half substitutes Carlos Rivas and Kaka, their first goals of the season.
