USWNT: Leroux returns for Scandinavian tour

Sydney Leroux, a member of the 2015 Women's World Cup championship team, will return to the national team for the first time since October 2015 for its two-game tour of Scandinavia against Sweden on June 8 in Gothenburg and against Norway on June 11 in Sandefjord.

Leroux, who has 35 goals in 75 caps, missed the 2016 NWSL season as she gave birth of her son in September 2016. An ankle injury had slowed her in 2015 when she went scoreless after playing just 181 minutes at the World Cup in Canada, where she was born.

Leroux, who has started all six games for FC Kansas City this year, is one of 11 players in Jill Ellis' 21-player squad for the Scandinavia trip who were on the team in 2015 when it won its third world title.

The squad also includes Boston Breakers goalkeeper Abby Smith, who has never been capped, and defenders Abby Dahlkemper and Jaelene Hinkle, who get their first call-ups in 2017.

Defender Julie Ertz returns after missing the USA's games against Russie in April because of her wedding and honeymoon, while midfielders Morgan Brian and Lindsey Horan are back in the team after missing the Russia matches due to injuries.

U.S. Roster:
GOALKEEPERS (2): Alyssa Naeher (Chicago Red Stars), Abby Smith (Boston Breakers).
DEFENDERS (7): Abby Dahlkemper (NC Courage), Julie Ertz (Chicago Red Stars), Jaelene Hinkle (NC Courage), Meghan Klingenberg (Portland Thorns), Kelley O'Hara (Sky Blue FC), Becky Sauerbrunn (FC Kansas City), Casey Short (Chicago Red Stars).

Goal keeper is still a big hole since Hope Solo eviction. Until a replacement with 1/8 of Hope's skill is found this team is extremely vulnerable regardless of how wonderful our offense and defense are. Coach needs to find that diamond in the rough and polish her. It's a lot of work but the payoff is not worth the future migraine she will get with the present goalkeepers if she doesn't.

Please do not bring again finished players like Morgan, Sauerbrunn,Press, and the most of the group Megan Rapino . ms rapino is too old and has nothing to contribute except perhaps teaching to the younger generation as an apprentice coach. It appears that this selection was made by someone who has fear of friendly games defeats in order to maintain her job of coach of the team. Ms Ellis is not a good coach , she is responsable for the failure in the last years olympics. Why is she still the coach? A coach with knowledge of football would already be developing and giving 'opportunities to the young players that we need them to represent us in the next world cup and olympics among the most important
