Just three days after being recalled to the U.S. national team, Sydney Leroux had her best game since returning from her pregnancy leave, scoring two first-half goals for FC Kansas City in a
3-2 win over the Washington Spirit.
Captain Becky Sauerbrunn added an insurance goal for FC Kansas City in the 60th minute. The Blues played the last 20 minutes with 10 players
after Alex Newfield was red carded. Havana Solaun reduced FCKC's lead to 3-2 in the 83rd minute but the last-place Spirit could not get an equalizer.

to within two points of leader North Carolina Courage with a 2-1 win over the Courage on Saturday. The win gave the Red Stars back-to-back victories over the Courage and extended their unbeaten streak
in four games.
