NASL Rewind: Steinberger on fire for Armada

The Jacksonville Armada’s Zach Steinberger  scored twice for the second straight week, leading the Armada to a 2-1 win over North Carolina and moving it into second place behind Miami, whose four-game winning streak came to an end with a Week 10 tie with winless Puerto Rico.

Steinberger, a 25-year-old Southern California product who played college ball at Butler, joined the Armada in 2016 from MLS’s Houston Dynamo, for which he appeared in three MLS games (29 minutes) in 2015. He leads the NASL in scoring with six goals.

• Miami’s 1-1 tie with Puerto Rico ended Miami's four-game win streak but it remains unbeaten in six straight games.

• The woes of 2016 runner-up Indy Eleven continue. It remains winless after a 2-1 loss at Edmonton and slipped to second-to-last.

• After a scoreless tie at New York, San Francisco remains unbeaten on the road. It has conceded just one away goal in two wins and three ties. The fifth-place team, however, has won only one of its four home games, while losing two and tying one at Kezar Stadium.
