T&T is practicing at the University of Colorado's at Prentup Field in Boulder, where it beat the PDL's FC Boulder, 1-0, on Sunday evening. A 51st -minute goal by Mexican-based forward Shahdon Winchester was the difference in the friendly.
Head coach Dennis Lawrence brought 18 players to Boulder though he has not named his team for the U.S. qualifier. The FIFA fixture window doesn't open until June 5, so all players have not been released.
Lawrence, the third T&T coach in six months, took over as national team coach following the resignation of Belgian Tom Saintfiet, who quit after just five weeks on the job in January.
T&T started five MLS players -- Mekeil Williams (Colorado), Cordell Cato (San Jose), Kevin Molino (Minnesota United), Joevin Jones (Seattle) and Kenwyne Jones (Atlanta United) -- in Lawrence's first qualifier in charge of the team, a 1-0 win over Panama. The Soca Warriors are in last place in the Hexagonal with just three points after four games.

“The main thing is to make sure that, from an acclimatisation point, we are well prepared physically,” Lawrence told the TTFA web site. “In terms of how we intend to approach the games, we are going to be on the front foot and try to compete with them. We are going to go toe-to-toe because I don’t think we can afford to sit back and allow the U.S. to take full control of the game. It’s not going to be easy because historically it’s not a generous place for us to go to but we need to try and start thinking differently now and believe we can go there and accomplish things."
The USA has beaten the Soca Warriors six straight times by shutout at home in World Cup qualifying. The only blemish was a 1-1 tie at El Camino College in Torrance, California, in 1989 when the USA conceded the tying goal by T&T's Hutson Charles in the 88th minute.
