What this tells us is that MLS offers better financial opportunities than the domestic leagues of Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras and T&T. It says little about the quality of play in MLS, which remains way below European leagues AND Liga MX.

Financial is only a small part for those regions.. there are also growth opportunities, better lifestyles, chances to play in a league that is really global, enjoyment and most important build a career..

Rather unremarkable observation. Everyone knows MLS is not yet at the level of top European leagues or LigaMX. Seems the way to get there is to get better players though and a lot of these guys are pretty good.

If you are telling me that MLS is worse than the leagues in these countries I don't buy it.

The MLS provides stability, a pay check, and opportunity for Central American teams, Even for S America. We have amazing 2 tier players. Just look to Argentina. I agree that there are 3 or 4 countries we can not compete with in Europe. Is the Scottish league better, Austria, Ukraine, and so on? Are all French teams better? We have grown so much. Atlanta's DPs are young and talented. Any top Champions league teams from Europe could be any country. They play 9 months a year. The back line of Juventus is the back line for Italy. MLS is growing and other players want to be part of it from all over. Go USA! Boy I love the sport.
