Was he there to receive the silver boot? I didn't see him, and I didn't hear the announcement. I don't think the announcers got that much into the presentations.

Teams that were eliminated before the semifinals leave the country early. No players from those teams will be announced in the ceremony.

Thanks,Gus. I was sure the team had left, but the article made me think Sargent was there for the trophy. At one point, I saw 3 young men on stage holding trophies, but couldn't make out if they were boots or balls. Also, Sargent has a pretty distinctive look to him, and I didn't think I saw him there. It was way too early in the morning for me to be thinking clearly!

Those were all ball winners (gold, silver and bronze). They were all from teams in the semifinals.

I recognize every name above, for subsequent exploits at some level, with American soccer, except for Kyle Campbell. A quick look on the internet didn't bring up anything about his career (or not) after these early awards. What happened to him?

My assumption is that a combination of Tony Meola, Brad Friedel, Kasey Keller, and no domestic professional soccer happened to him and his life went in a different direction.
