NASL: Jacksonville Armada gets new owner

Orlando-based real estate businessman Robert Palmer is the new owner of the NASL club Jacksonville Armada, which had been operated by the league since previous owner Mark Frisch turned over ownership of the team to the NASL last January.

The Armada, which joined the NASL in 2015, finished fourth in the eight-team Spring Season standings while averaging home crowds of just over 3,000 at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium.

"While sports ownership has been a dream of mine since I was young, the business opportunity with Armada FC and the NASL was simply too good to pass up," said Palmer. "I care deeply about the Jacksonville market and have both personal and professional interests in the area. My team at Robert Palmer Companies and I look forward to bringing our proven marketing and business strategies to this outstanding organization."

Palmer, a native of Lakeland, Florida, is the founder and CEO of Robert Palmer Companies, which is based in Central Florida and is involved in the financing, marketing, and escrow of more than $5 billion in residential real estate, according to an NASL press release.

Palmer has started other companies, including and Listing Power Tools.
