USA-El Salvador: A night of bites and a twisted nipple

The USA had already staked out a 2-0 lead over El Salvador when the game degenerated in the second half. In separate incidents in the penalty area, El Salvador defender Henry Romero bit Jozy Altidore on the back of his left shoulder and twisted his nipple. Afterwards, another U.S. player said he too had been bitten.

"My girl's mad at me," Altidore said. "She's mad at me. She's mad at Romero, 'cause she's like: 'Only I can bite you, only I can grab your nipples.'"

Whatever Romero's motives, it worked. Canadian referee Drew Fischer did not punish Romero for the incident in the 57th minute and Altidore, incredulous with what happened, was ineffective for the rest of the game.

"It's never happened before," he said, "but in Concacaf it never ceases to amaze me."

Omar Gonzalez said San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Darwin Ceren also bit him on the back of his left shoulder late in the game.

"I was a bit shocked," he said.

It gets better in south america:
....because the game is only fun when you can stick your finger up someone's sphincter. On International TV. In perpetuity! Jara--just missing his clown suit.

El Salvador definitely had an agenda last night. They were crap like that all game long.

I was at the game. Some of the fans weren't much better...we could see them throwing beers and food at US fans as they walked out and there was fighting before the game even started in the section next to us.

Someone here tried to tell me the women's game can be just as physical. It's not things as stupid as this happens all the time in the men's game. Remember the speeches before the match that the captains were forced to say :) I hope the kiddies didn't see that.

I played against a team from Trinidad I won't even tell you what they did to me. Funny the guy that did it to me 13 yrs later I coached his two sons. Nice kids and his father was always around to help set things up.

I hope CONCACAF and FIFA look at the
    tapes of El Salvador-USA...the cannibals
on the El Salvador team need to get a year's suspension...remember how Suarez was punished after his World Cup biting incident?

Honduras-Mexico was another example of excessive brutality, mostly on the part of Honduras...several of their players
seemed to belong to the knife-wielding gangs that roam the streets of San Salvador - kudos to Mexico for keeping generally calm and not engaging in the brawls Honduras was obviously trying to incite...what a bunch of gangsters!

FIFA n the confederation are tax exempt monopoly organizations ( no USA taxes on profits from these games or WC ) and it serves the board members n feed their first class travel and 5 star hotel n restraint habits. What a shame.
