U.S. women: Uncapped trio picked for summer series

Three uncapped players -- Abby Smith and Midge Purce of the Boston Breakers and Taylor Smith of the North Carolina Courage -- were included in the USA's 23-player roster for the Tournament of Nations that will feature Japan, Australia and Brazil.

Also in camp will be the Chicago Red Stars' Mexican-American, Sofia Huerta, who is awaiting a switch of association.

Back in the team is 32-year-old defender Ali Krieger, who was not picked for the June trip to Sweden and Norway.

Tobin Heath (back), Ashlyn Harris (quad) and Rose Lavelle (hamstring) would have all been likely been picked up for injuries. Also not picked were Portland Thorns defenders Emily Sonnett, who had played at the SheBelieves Cup in March, and Meghan Klingenberg.
