"I love it. I played there for two and a half years. I loved the charm, the raccoons running down there, the rats, the cockroaches the size of raccoons. And I won a championship there, so why wouldn't
I love RFK. It's a monument."
-- Real Salt Lake head coach
Mike Petke on Washington's RFK Stadium, which he will likely visit for the last time when RSL plays at D.C. United on
Saturday. United is expected to move into new Audi Field in 2018. (

Petke will always be Black and Red!
What a dump. Don't get me wrong - I loved going down there to watch RBNY knock these clowns out of the playoffs two years in a row. But no one will miss the third world conditions at RFK.
The way Petke described it sounds great :) especially the rats. I saw east river rats close to 18 inches long in the iron place horse barn when I was a kid in Italian Harlem. It was a scrap iron place they stilled used horse drawn carts to pick the scrap iron up. Petke brought back memories I have been trying to for get for 70 years thanks Mike. :)
