Potential good USMNT news: Gonzalez back in Pachuca 18

Omar Gonzalez. returned to the Pachuca squad for the first time since injuring himself in a Copa MX game two weeks earlier. He dressed but didn't play in Tuzos' 4-1 win over Veracruz, their third Liga MX win in a row after they started out with three defeats.

With John Brooks already sidelined, the U.S. national team coaching staff will be looking at Gonzalez's fitness to determine his availability for the World Cup qualifiers against Costa Rica and Honduras.

The only American to start on Tuesday was Jonathan Bornstein for Queretaro, which fell to Tijuana, 3-1, at home. Joe Corona came on in the second half for Xolos, which won their second game in a row after going winless in the first four games of the Torneo Apertura.
