U.S. U-17s boys beat Russia 3-1 at Jezek tournament

Chris Goslin, James Sands and Ulysses Llanez  scored for the U.S. U-17 national team in a 3-1 win over Russia at the 2017 Vaclav Jezek Tournament in the Czech Republic. Coach John Hackworth’s team, which opened with a 4-1 over Hungary, faces Japan in its final Group B game on Friday.

Goslin of Atlanta United opened the scoring against the Russians with 24th minute scissor kick. Sands, a New York City FC academy defender, headed Alex Mendez’s corner kick into the Russian net in the 37th minute. Following an own goal by Charlie Asensio in the 86th minute, the Galaxy’s Llanez finished from the top of the penalty area.

Placement games will be played on Saturday.

    The game against Japan should be very interested. Wish there were a way to watch.
