Bank executive Carnoy joins U.S. Soccer board

Financial executive Lisa Carnoy has been elected to the U.S. Soccer board of directors Carnoy as an independent director.

Carnoy is an executive at Bank of America and U.S. Trust, a private bank with Bank of America. All three independent directors -- Donna Shalala, Val Ackerman and Carnoy -- are women on a board that otherwise consists of 13 men and one woman, athlete representative Angela Hucles.

Carnoy serves on the leadership team for U.S. Trust's global wealth & investment management business and on Bank of America's operating committee and is a leader in diversity and recruiting initiatives at Bank of America and heads its corporate social responsibility work in New York City.

Carnoy is a trustee and a co-chair of the board at Columbia University, where U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati is an economics instructor. She was a sprinter for the Lions' track & field team.
