Financial executive Lisa Carnoy
has been elected to the U.S. Soccer board of directors Carnoy as an independent director.
Carnoy is an executive at Bank of America and U.S. Trust,
a private bank with Bank of America. All three independent directors -- Donna Shalala
, Val Ackerman
and Carnoy -- are women on a board
that otherwise consists of 13 men and one woman, athlete representative Angela Hucles
on the leadership team for U.S. Trust's global wealth & investment management business and on Bank of America's operating committee and is a leader in diversity and recruiting initiatives at Bank
of America and heads its corporate social responsibility work in New York City.
Carnoy is a trustee and a co-chair of the board at Columbia University, where U.S. Soccer president
is an economics instructor. She was a sprinter for the Lions' track & field team.
