Soccer America Men's College Top 25

Stanford remained No. 1 in the Soccer America Men's College 25 rankings. The top 11 teams in the SA Preseason rankings all won in Week 1.
 

Week 1's big results:
Wake Forest 4 Providence 1. Freshman Brandon Servania (FC Dallas academy) had a pair of assists to give him eight points on two goals and four assists in two games.

Omaha 5 Virginia 1. Elvir Ibisevic, whose coach cousin Vedad plays for Bosnia & Herzegovina, scored three goals in a span of 10:01 in the first half for the first hat trick in the Mavericks' history.

Utah Valley 1 Akron 0. Giovanny Vazquez's header in the 54th minute propelled the Wolverines past the Zips in front of a record crowd of 4,351 fans.

Notable:
-- Mark Berson moved into sole possession of fourth place on the all-time NCAA Division I list with his 495th career victory when South Carolina beat USC Upstate, 2-1, before 5,048 fans.

-- George Gelnovatch became Virginia’s all-time leader in wins as the Cavaliers registered a 3-2 overtime victory over Villanova. He surpassed his predecessor, Bruce Arena, with his 296th career victory.

    Omaha beat Virginia TECH, not Virginia.
