Atletico Madrid will play its first game Saturday against Sevilla at its new 68,000-seat Wanda Metropolitano, named after the Estadio Metropolitano where Atletico played until 1966.
“The fans obviously will never forget the memories, the nostalgia and the love that they had for the old Metropolitano or for the [most recent stadium] Calderon,” Atletico coach

change.”
There is already a waiting list for season tickets at the new stadium, which cost $286 million.
