Crowd Count: Atlanta United will break MLS single-game record again

Atlanta United announced that it has already sold 70,426 tickets for its season finale Oct. 22 against Toronto FC, assuring itself of another MLS attendance record for a stand-alone game as well as the season record for a U.S. pro team.

It set an MLS attendance record for a stand-alone game when it drew 70,425 fans for its game against Orlando City, its first played at full capacity at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Atlanta United will break the U.S. pro soccer record of 47,856 fans a game set by the NASL's New York Cosmos at Giants Stadium in 1978 as well as the MLS record of 45,881 fans a game held by the Seattle Sounders.

-- The NWSL's North Carolina Courage drew a sellout crowd of 10,017 at WakeMed Soccer Park for its semifinal game against Chicago, an attendance record for it first season in Cary.

-- The USL surpassed the two million-mark in total attendance for the 2017 season on Sunday night, becoming the first North American second division to surpass two million in attendance. One more week is remaining in the regular season.
